Our CD33 has a Hurth transmission. The Hurth data sheets call for automatic transmission fluid, type A. I haven't been able to find type A and get the impression it is outdated. What should I use? Will just any automatic transmission fluid be ok?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: Transmission oil
I ran into the same problem when I tried to change the transmission fluid in my new/used CD33. I did a search on this bulletin board and found that several people had used Dextron II fluid in place of Type A. I also asked the service man at our marina what to use and he confirmed that Dextron II was the stuff to use. Hope this helps.
By the way, where do you sail? I sail Zenobia (hull No. 100) out of Oriental, NC.

Thanks for the reply and the information. I tried searching but must have used the wrong keys.
Thanks again for the information.

We sail Athena (hull no. 94) out of Salem, MA. As you can guess, we are getting very close to the end of the season and envy your extra time in the water. On the other hand, we don't envy the bad weather you have received.Ryan T. wrote: By the way, where do you sail? I sail Zenobia (hull No. 100) out of Oriental, NC.
