Boatyards, Queens to Port Washington, NY

Post by Joel »

I'm adding a new vessel to the fleet and need to find a good yard in which to store this newest addition. Until now I was able to use my backyard. Does anyone have anything to say (good or bad) regarding boatyards on the north shore from Queens to Port Washington, NY? I plan on doing my own work.

Thanks,

Joel

Hi Joel, Just want to mention this. You say that you want to do your own work. Make sure in advance that the boatyard you choose will let you do your own work. Some do, some don't,some only let you do certain things. I hate surprises. Good luck with your new boat.Keep on sailing. John Dunn Oswego, N.Y. on Lake Ontario

I CAN RECOMMEND THE COLLEGE POINT YACHT CLUB AT THE FOOT OF 3RD AVE
AND 125TH STREET IN WHITESTONE. ITS A GREAT YARD,PEOPLE ARE NICE, AND
ITS A "DO YOUR OWN WORK" YARD. THERE ARE ABOUT 35/40 BOATS FROM
LITTLE NECK BAY THERE (INCLUDING MY OLD BOAT "DARKSTAR" CD30K
AND WINDSPRINT FROM YOUR SIDE OF THE BAY.)
