Great boat! (But, aren't all Cape Dorys?) I just bought one (1985--#16). You probably know already that only 78 were made. I wanted a 26 because I preferred an outboard for ease of maintenance, but wanted a Cape Dory with standing headroom.

Try www.soundingspub.com. They currently list 3, in MA, NJ, and NC. Asking prices range from $21,500 to $22,500. You can see a picture of the one in North Carolina at http://www4.coastalnet.com/quayas/cd26.html. There is something about the camera lens that makes the boat look very odd, though. The 26 looks much nicer. Good luck.

Darin:

Your post made me curious. Do you sail out of Herring Bay in Deale, Md.? I saw a CD26 there last weekend. I suspect you are also the guy selling the blue hulled CD 25 on the hard near the entrance to HH North. If the foregoing is correct, I'd very much appreciate your comments on the differences between the 26 and 25 -- I'm thinking about making the switch (although my boat doesn't know about it yet).
