Re: TS Dolly.......
Tracks below 15 N then it could well be a problem. Heads NW and it will encounter shearing westerlies according to models. Category 1 48 hour forcast.

This calls for immediate action by all Atlantic and Gulf Coast sailors. Time to start bribing old Neptune to be merciful and maybe help steer this one away from us. A small libation of your best alcoholic delight poured over the side along with some sort of incantation might spare us this tempest! Anyone ever try to bribe Neptune with some excellent single malt?John Nuttall wrote: ......FYI......Get Ready, this one might not fizzle out........

I tried the single malt trick once. I kept forgetting that NEPTUNE was supposed to drink it though! Gave me a hell of a hangover.Warren Kaplan wrote:This calls for immediate action by all Atlantic and Gulf Coast sailors. I suppose that could be a viable variation to serving it up to Neptune. If you sample a large enough aliquot of the brew, your disposition may be such that you'd never know if the storm hit you or not! Mankind has been imbibing alcohol for well over 5000 years. Any practice that lasts that long just has to have some merit to it.

I like your history lesson! But my last hangover seemed to last 5,000 years. Oh, well - I'll never do that again. Yeah, I've learned that lesson well - several times!Warren Kaplan wrote:Richard,Richard Hill wrote:I tried the single malt trick once. I kept forgetting that NEPTUNE was supposed to drink it though! Don't know about you, but I think Neptune was a cruiser!

In a somewhat more serious vein, there is an excellent hurricane website at www.hurricanetrack.com. It's run by a guy who chases hurricanes for a living, and also does a good job of making hurricane storm surge maps, if you live in the southeast. He keeps the site updated a couple of times a day in the season, and has a lot of really good information.John R. wrote: Tracks below 15 N then it could well be a problem.
