Hi to all,
I just want to say, tomorrow is my launching day and i'm a BIT nervous. At last my "project boat" will be almost complete.
I lost a lot of time because i trust the previous owner (foul of me). I paid what he had asking for is Alberg 22 but when came the time to bring her home the yacht club did not let me took her because he did not paid his fee for the last year, and when i go to the Canadian Custom to register my A22, surprise, he was not the official owner...he did not made the transfert when he bought her ( because he did not want to pay the sales tax...amazing thing he is a senior laywer for the federal government of Canada... a real joke). I had to cry a bit at the officer of Transport Canada and he agree to transfert me the ownership of the sailboat. Now i'm the proud owner of an old A22. So i'm clean to cross the border, i will sail on the Lake Champlain (Vermont, New York).
The cost of my hull was nothing compare to the cost of refurbish her, new paint, news hardwares, new woods works, new electricity, new electronics and empty pockets ha! ha!
THANK'S TO ALL, yours ideas and yours help (i received greats ideas by email from CD Board guys) was always helpfull. This project was suppose to be a son and dad job, but my father past away (heart attack) before i receive the boat, he was the brain and i was a novice. WITHOUT you and yours knowledge i did not knew how to do a so great job. I confess i'm proud of the look of my A22.
I'm not sure if i can post a picture of her because it's not a CD.
I plan to put her on water tuesday afternoon, cross the border on friday(motor cruise) and i will sail saturday.
I'm almost at the end of the season but it will be so fun to sail again.
Thank's to all
Marc

Re: Launching day, tomorrow
Marc,
Back in the 1960s I was a student at the University of Vermont, right on Lake Champlain. I've been back there often as I fell in love with that lake a long time ago. Seems fitting that a beautiful lake should have a beautiful Alberg boat sailing on her. Man, I'd love to be aboard around the second week of October during the height of the color season in Vermont. Sailing on a sunny day during the color season is something you will never, ever forget! Fair winds and good luck to you!
