Is there anyone around who knows what the CD36s sold for when new in 1981? I'm just curious as to how they have held their value. I thought I'd seen a post about original prices a while back, but haven't found the majic words to use that allows the search engine to find it.

CD36 prices when new
Moderator: Jim Walsh
CD/36 holding value much better than NT, GE, IBM, T, F, and
not to mention Enron, Tyco, Authur Anderson, etc., etc., and so forth. Of course they don't carry maintenance costs and slip fees, but even so, the boat has been a better investment the last three years. I wish it wasn't so. Even in an up market I think Parfait would give me more pleasure, but in this market the contest isn't even close.
Robinhood was pricing the 36 at $250,000 plus options and accessories a few years ago. IMHO, used 36s, even if they have kept their value, are an even greater value today.

Re: 1984 Price list
So, the 31 at 11,500 pounds sold for $5.65 a pound. If boats sold by the pound, which isn't an unreasonable measure, then in '84 the 36 should have been selling for around $90,500.
Maybe Andy Denmark or Dave Perry can confirm?
Keep on sailing,
