Anyone know the net tonnage of CD25D?

Re: Anyone know the net tonnage of CD25D?
To my knowledge the cd25d does not make the requirement for getting documented. I forget the formula, but it's had to do with the square footage of the boat. I believe the boat to pass, has to be able to displace 6 tons. That's a boat somewhere around 27'L by 8'W. Hope th is is helpful and some what correct.

Please search on "documentation"
Lawrence,
Several CD/25Ds are documented. If you can search on "documentation" you will find several useful posts. If not, the short answer to your question is: 5 Net Tons.
Here is the info from one documentation certificate:
Gross tonnage: 6 GRT

>>I forget the formula, but it's had to do with the square footage of the boat.<<
It's a combination of beam, length and depth, so it's the cube not the square. "Tonnage" relates to the so-called cargo carrying capacity of the hull. The Coast Guard's documentation form shows how to measure each component.
By the way, the CG would save us all lots of time and effort (maybe save them time and effort, too) if they'd just give a list of models of production boats that have been previously documented.

Documentation Formula - Form Link Below
It is not a simple cubic measurement; it involves weighted measurements. See the link below for an interactive form.
FYI, as I calculate it, the CD/25D doesn't qualify per the formula, so take it with a grain of salt and rely on the previously documented boats' info.
I certainly agree that a simple list of previously documented production boats would be a large help to the CG and the public.
