Tranducer Compatibility with Depth Finders

I have replaced my DataMarine Depthfinder gauge with a newer Standard Horizon...it fits the same bulkhead 4 inch round cutout. I'd like to utilize the existing older 200khz thru-hull transducer. Anyone have success with mixing brands?

I did exactly that. It's worked flawlessly for six years.
