NE Rendezvous, ETA Oyster Bay??

Post by Warren Kaplan »

Hi all,
For those planning on coming to West Harbor of Oyster Bay for the Western Sound Rendezvous, perhaps you could let me know your estimated time of arrival. We are scheduled to be in Oyster Bay starting on Sunday July 28th, and all day on the 29th. Since Oyster Bay is my home port, I'd like to be around when people start arriving so I can be of some assistance if necessary. In the next few days I'll put something up on this board to help you navigate into West Harbor from the Sound. Its pretty easy. So e-mail me with your ETAs at Oyster Bay! If everyone is getting there late, I'll be sailing the entrance to Oyster Bay during the day. Otherwise, I'll pick out the best spots in West Harbor for us to drop the hook in.

Warren,

I expect to be there by early afternoon. Not much of a sail from Norwalk!!!!!!!

I do of course expect, full colors, cannon shot over the bow and all appropriated Bru ha ha for the Fleet Captain :-)

Warren,

Barring any unforeseen delays, Second Chance will be making the morning northeast flood at Hell Gate between 0700 and 0800 Sunday July 28, 2002 (current changes north at Hell Gate at 0741.

That should put is in the Oyster Bay area at mid-day. What channel will you be monitoring? If we get there early enough we can have a mini-fleet-sail. And am I correct that Sine Qua Non is pronounced "sinnay kwah non?" (never took Latin!!!)

Bill,
I'll be waiting somewhere in the area. Haven't decided on a channel to monitor yet but I'm thinking of Channel 71. That's the channel my marina monitors and there never seems to be much traffic on it. So let's say CH 71 unless I find reason to change it! You've got Sine Qua Non pronounced right...but if you have any trouble, I'm used to answering to "Hey You!"
