Need pulpit help

Post by Don Sargeant »

No, not religion...
A friend at the helm, yesterday, T-boned a 35-footer. COQUINA's now wearing a pretzel on her nose instead of a bow-pulpit. Ocean Engineering's phone is disconnected -- I assume they are as well (Kathy -- make a note on the equiper's list). So who has the drawings? Does anyone know of a source -- preferably in the northeast?
WOW -- is that stem-fitting strong!

Don,

I'm going to remove Ocean Engineering from the list on the "Where to Look" page. Does anyone know of a replacement?

By the way, if you cannot find a local fabricator to make a replacement bow pulpit, Lockwood Boat Works, Inc. (the boatyard where I keep my boat) makes them. (They make the pulpits for one of the powerboat manufacturers.) It would have to be a custom order and I'm sure it would be expensive too. (You probably wouldn't get it right away either, but they do good quality work.)

Anyway, they're there if you cannot find anything closer to home or cheaper. They're located in Morgan, NJ.

They have a web site, but it's getting stepped on today by another site using the same URL as a redirect. When it's up and running again, it should be at http://www.lbwinc.com/ or you can contact them at 732-721-1605.

Thanks Catherine,
My local rigger (Hatheway Reiser & Raymond)wants $1200. When I asked to see a sample of his work he told me his pulpits were made in Michigan. Tops-in-Q quoted $575!
