Bleeding Mistake

Post by jim jamieson »

When bleeding my 1GM after changing the filter. I mistakenly started to open the big nut (injector spring holder) on top of the injector pump. Realizing the mistake, I screwed the nut back to where I think it was then opened the nut on top that secures the output pipe and bled out fuel. The engine started fine and runs smoothly at 2900 rpm max in forward at the dock. I wonder if I have done damage and what I should look for.

Jim:
You should be fine. If it starts, it means you got everything back to where it belongs. If it didn't start, it would mean you'd have to turn the nut a little bit either way.
