Plastic Ports - Gray Enterprises...Cleaning?

CD 28 MORNING LIGHT has 8 opening plastic ports installed in early 90's and I have tried almost everything to get the exterior frames
cleaned. They have not been well cared for and are an eyesore. There must be someone out there who has solved this problem, short of painting them (is that advisable?) Waiting in the wings....Bill
