CD25 PHRF Racer!

Post by Jim Myers »

I am very glad to report on my racing experience last night. My CD25 with 97% jib on a furler rating 298 canvas with a 2 person crew won both corrected and first over the line in a 3.7 mile 2.5 time around triangle race. The wind was between 8-12 knots variable with a rising tide. We beat 4 boats all with lower ratings one as low as 250. We all know these are great boats but I think we better keep it a secret that they race to or better than their ratings!

Congratulations, Jim!!

It's very encouraging to know that there are activities that lay ahead beyond blowing in circles in a heavy wind and fighting with motors.

That does seem to be the way this spring is going! I am hopeful for some more settled weather on the bay soon. If you have the time, the early evenings have been the nicest time to sail lately.

I'm also doing well with my CD26d. (PERF 255) First over the line but can't take first because of an ODAY 22 with a PERF of 279. Can't figure why that boat has such a high PERF. I searched the tables and can't find a PERF higher
