Sheave lube....and "messenger"

Well, two questions that might keep a couple of Gremlins away: What kind of lubrication do I use on the mast sheaves? And, never having had a furler before, how does one (yard person, or me) use
a messenger for a greater purpose? Thanks, waiting for my Volvo reconditioning to be complete, Bill w/MORNING LIGHT.

Use a lithium based white grease for the sheaves. Don't know what you mean when you say a "messenger" for a roller furler? ? ? Please clarify....
