We're excited about the South River trip, hope you are too! We'd love to see many of our favorite boats.

The plan is to raft up on the South River (Use NOAA Chart# 11544) towards the river's head of navigation, between Eastman Creek and Southwest Creek on the West side of the river. The location is at approximately 34°55.43 N and 76° 32.82 W. This is about 3.5 nautical miles past G"5".

The entrance to South River is approximately 6 nautical miles southeast of Oriental, NC at Fl G 2.5s 15ft 4M "1" on the Neuse River

There is a farm with a gazebo there, that is apparently available for use . We are in the process of finding out about that. We'll try to contact the owner to get permission. Otherwise, we'll organize the dinner party on the boats (which may be better anyway, considering the mosquitoes)! Speaking of the latter, do not forget to bring some bug repellent just in case. Of course, besides that, bring libations and food, we'll plan cocktails around 5:30 PM.
