we lived aboard our 28 for a year. Sailed from Beverly,MA to the keys, Bahamas and back to ME.

The 28 is nice. Sure you won't lack for opinions here, but the 28 carries a little more freeboard and also carries more beam further aft (deeper lazarettes)

You can't go wrong with either boat. they both have their +'s and -'s.

We will be starting out for a month plus long voyage into the San Juans, Gulf Islands, Princess Louisa, and eventually north to Desolation Sound and north on Thursday. This is the second trip in our 28, and we are looking foward getting away from the phone, TV, news, etc. etc. etc.

As we have only owned our CD 28 for two plus years, this is our second extended trip.

The first time, we found our boat really comfortable (especially with a Force 10 Heater to keep the chill and wet out!) and with lots of storage for food and other goodies as I took out one of the 30 gallon water tanks.

We carry a lot of easy to prepare food, and try to find a marina about every five days or so for showers, food provisions, wine, etc. which is easy in the northwest (even Desolation Sound!)

Hope this helps
