My friend just bought a CD30 Poweryacht. He is interested in finding where he can get a replacement for the Hoyt DC/AC power meter which is part of the electrical panel.. Any help out there?
What is the best RPM for the these twin Volvo diesels? TAMD41B engines.
Thanks,
Dana

Re: CD30 Poweryacht Question
Try any electronics supply house and see if they've ever heard of it. Let me know if you find out - the adjustment screw on my voltage meter doesn't adjust anything and the meter reads 0.2 v high.Dana wrote: My friend just bought a CD30 Poweryacht. On my boat I either run below 2000 rpm off plane, or follow the general rule of 90% of wide open throttle as the maximum cruising speed for a diesel. I hit WOT at 3650, so cruise between 3100 and 3300 rpm.Dana wrote: What is the best RPM for the these twin Volvo diesels? TAMD41B engines.
According to the Volvo manual, the WOT range for "pleasure duty" and "light duty" is 3600-3900 rpm so I guess the boat is propped OK.
The boat seems to get up on plane around 3000-3100 rpm. I find a bit of vibration in the engines at 1800 rpm so try to stay off that shaky spot. My Volvo dealer says that's not unusual in that engine.

I read your comment about the vibration at 1800 rpm. Mine does the same thing! I either run at 1500 or 2000 rpm but rarely in between. At least the boats (or engines) are consistent.
