I can fab a new CD-28 port or starboard chain plate for around $400/each. We specailize in TIG welding of SS for the food, dairy and pharmaceutical and have qualified welders.
I replaced the chain plate on my CD-28 and kept the original as a template.
The price would vary depending on the thickness of the backing plate.
