Currently have a red 'pilot' light in the main electrical panel aboard QUEST that has died. Bulb cannot be replaced--it is a whole unit that is wired into the circuitry. It fits into the panel plate hole and is retained by a stainless collar on one side, and a snap metal ring on the back side. Where can I get a new one? Thanks ahead.

Re: Panel Light Replacement CD25D
Hi Mimi...
I recently replaced mine also. Took out the old one. Made a wiring diagram first though. I am not good with electric stuff. I took the light to an electronics supply store and found an exact replacement. Mine was about 1/4" dia and an inch long.

Re: Panel Light Replacement CD25D
The pilot light aboard Rhapsody (a 1984) was a 1/2" pilot light obtained from 1st Radio Shack and then from a local electrical warehouse. I am concerned about the amp draw on the new light, but it is a perfect snap in fit.....

Re: Panel Light Replacement CD25D
If you can find a neon pilot light, it will draw very little current from the mains and not fail for several years even if it is on continuously. If not, you could add a resistor between the line and the lamp to cut the current (and light intensity) while prolonging the life of the bulb.
