Aloha Spirit sailing the Chespeake!

Post by Bob Ohler »

Yesterday was a banner day for the Aloha Spirit! She got her new sails, and she and I (we) enjoyed our first sail of the year together. The wind was blowing a steady 10 knots, and I raised her new sails to see what she could do. I don't who was smiling more... her or me. The new main, yankee and staysail were all flying. Like new life had been added to her hull, the boat sailed like never before! One passing boat called out "Really nice boat." I waived and said "Thanks."

An expensive beer in a green bottle with Jimmy Buffett playing in the background while I covered the sails, completed the day.

Looking to forward to seeing the rest of the Chesapeake Fleet on the Bay this year.

I guess that wasn't a Corsendonk if it was in a green bottle. Even so, I enjoyed mine and say thanks!
