While looking through some old posts, I noticed several references to an opening in the cabin liner that provides access to the sink and engine cooling seacocks without removing the steps. I for one (hull#51) do not have such an opening.....and want to make one. I am tired of removing the steps so often. Would one of you, who have this advantage describe it in some detail or send me a picture for guidance. Does it have a door? I wonder if they just overlooked it on what is now my CD27.

CD27 access opening below sink

Re: CD27 access opening below sink
Bob,
Just under the sink, in the forward-facing bulkhead, there is a small drawer. When you remove the drawer, you can reach the sink seacock, and on Second Chance (which has been repowered with a Yanmar 2GM20(F)), you can also reach the engine seacock and the oil dipstick. It may not help much if your engine intake seacock and/or dipstick is on the port side, as mine was before the repower.
I'll try to get a picture if it doesn't rain *all* day tomorrow as they are predicting.
