Question for Westerbeke owners only

Question for Westerbeke owners only
Has anyone been able to cross reference the part numbers for the Lift pump filter, or the 2nd stage filter. The prices for these are 4 times the normal price they should be from Westerbeke distributers.
The Westerbeke numbers are Lift pump 39548, and the 2nd stage is 30200
I did find the cross reference number for the crankcase filter
Westerbeke 36918 = Fram PH3593H
Don't buy their belts either. Just have your old one measured. (keep your old belt for a spare)

Re: Question for Westerbeke owners only
Hi Dennis...
I havent been able to find xrefs for those or any other Westerbeke parts despite some effort. I tried to xref the starter a couple of years ago with no luck even though I was able to find a Mitsubishi logo on it. The block on my 21A is supposed to be a Kobata tractor engine. If you find anything out let me know. NAPA has the best xref books and they were not able to help me.

Re: Question for Westerbeke owners only
I'm interested in the prices you found. I pay about $10 for each of the filters you mention at a local marine retailer.Dennis Truett wrote: The prices for these are 4 times the normal price they should be from Westerbeke distributers.
Bob
Koboda Engine numbers
My mechanic tells me that Koboda casts the CCs of all their engines on the side of the block. The Universal engines used Koboda tractor blocks for their marine conversions, but I never heard that about Westerbeke although it may be true. In any case if it's a Koboda block you should find a number cast into the block. If you have a 3 cylinder it will probably be a number around 950 or so.

Ken,
I also heard that they use Bukh diesels as their core. Have you heard the same?

Re: Beta Marine Uses Kubota diesels as a core
Larry,
I am not certain about Beta's use of Bukh blocks. I extracted some info from the betamarine-nc site below that indicates that everything but the large engines are Kubota. However, that doesn't mean that Bukh isn't buying blocks from Kubota or vice-versa. Fujitsu used to manufacture Siemens telephone switches and computers.
Here is what I extracted:
Atomic 4 Replacements 13.5 – 28 HP:
A Family of Engines based on Kubota
10 – 37.5 HP:
Beta Marine's small engine range is built in our Gloucestershire, England factory and is based on the most advanced water cooled Kubota diesels.
43 – 75 HP:
A family of engines based on Kubota
83 – 180 HP:
Based on the Ford/Iveco 5 and 7.5 litre engines
Generators:
Using the reliable Kubota diesel
