Typhoon Rudder - Can anyone trace the rudder outline for me?

Post by Evelyn Griggs »

I have a Typhoon, #595, owner's manual Thrid Edition, October 1979, new to me May 2000, and the rudder has fallen off! Does anyone have a typhoon that is in dry dock so that the rudder outline can be traced. I will be having my boat hauled to have the rudder replaced & would like to have a "to scale" drawing for the boat yard. Also, any info on the rudder replacement would be helpful. My many thanks, in advance, for any help that comes my way. It's a great sailing boat!

Nauset Marine in Orleans, MA made a couple of Typhoon rudders last year - the company that is now making the Hurricane owns the molds, but they had loaned the rudder parts to Nauset for one of their customers.

If any hardware is missing, Bristol Bronze can probably set you up.

Evelyn,
I can easily trace my rudder for you as my typhoon is on a trailer in my yard. If you still need the outline, please send me your address and I will mail it to you.

Regards,
Tom
