Does anybody know how the CE Ryder Sea Sprite 27 compares to the CD 27? I am looking for a clean CD 27 or 28 and am wondering if the
Sea Sprite represents the same quality of construction and design that the CD's do.
Thanks

Yes, except in the area of hardware...Spartan was very hard to beat
hands down....But the SS27 was very close to and later called the SS28, fairly large boat inside...see link below....also the SS27 came in a lot of different levels

It appears that it is a little roomier than the CD 27. It's to badDana wrote: Yes, except in the area of hardware...Spartan was very hard to beat

that they didn't mount the salon table on the starboard bulkhead.
It also seems that most of them came with amenities like pressure water, water heater and shore power where the CD27 did not.

Take a closer look at the table
Its mounting base is on the bulkhead...it a sliding base which allows you set up the table in the middle of the sole or off to the starboard side to get around. The boat length is 27"11", just under 28 feet.

Re: CD 27 vs Sea Sprite 27
I've had the opportunity to look over a neighboring Sea Sprite 27 and compare it with my CD 27. The extra 11 inches in length makes a big difference on the inside; I'm not sure there is that much difference in the waterline length; it is roomier (beamier) inside and the layout is very attractive. It would seem more accurate to compare it with a 28 foot boat. The Sea Sprite I looked at seemed short on storage - 'missing a foul weather locker - which is a compromise I'm glad I didn't have to make.
