New bow and stern rails and stantions

Post by Lisa Hullfish »

Does anyone know how I would go about having a new bow rail, stern rail and stantions made for a Cape Dory 25? I live in NJ. Not sure if we really need it, but thought I would look into the possibility. The Ocean Engineering Co. is no longer in business as far I can tell.
Thanks.

Lisa,
At the first page of this California Cape Dory board is an icon for "Where to Look". Click on that. You'll see a link for Ocean Engineering. They make bow and stern rails for Cape Dories. They quoted me for a new bow rail a few years back for my CD27. Hope this helps.

Wooops! Somehow I didn't read the last sentence of your post. Sorry. Didn't know Ocean Engineering was gone!

Try Lockwood Boat Works, Inc.

Lisa,

Lockwood can custom fabricate rails for you, but they won't be cheap. They make the rails for one of the power boat manufacturers (cannot remember which one).
