1981 CD25

Post by Greg Lutzow »

I just purchased a 1981 CD25 in desperate need of attention. This is the ship that was on e-bay. I received no documentation with her other than a bill of sale and am in need of some specifications. The on-line manual shows the numbers for the 25D but not the 25.

I need the lengths of all the standing and running rigging. I need the measurements for the sails as well as a detail diagram for the electrical, the plumbing and the rigging diagram. I would greatly appreciate any help that could be provided.

and now and unnamed CD25(the old name has been painted over so we will have to go through a full christening)

I have an owners manual for my 25 that differs somewhat from the one on line. It also does not tell you the lengths or diameters of any of the standing rigging. If you are replacing it, then take it down and label the rigging as it comes off. Then let the rigger measure those to make new ones. If you were going to do it yourself, then same thing only you do the measuring.
I have searched the archives in the past and only found info on the forestay length. Don Carr had his measure 28 feet 7.5 inches. Recently I measured mine for adding roller furling and got 28 feet 8 inches pin to pin. In addition the cheat sheet for the furler said the forestay measures 28 feet 8.5 inches. So it is right there about. Also it is 3/16 wire.
If you can get the specs when you do this, it would be great if you could post them for future use. Good luck
