CD30 V-Drive

Do all of the Cape Dory 30s have a V-drive? Someone indicated that the Universal (18 HP) was forward facing and didn't use one. I would also like to hear about some of the problems other than the engine access.

Beginning in 1984, the CD30 uses the Universal Model 18 engine which develops 14 horsepower. Its forward facing and a great engine but I would prefer more power.
