Hello fellow Captains,
One quick question.....I used to use seacock grease that was sold by spartan. As that has run out, what is your preferred lubrication for bronze seacocks?
Thanks all,

Re: seacock lube
Charlie,
Some like Spartan's grease, which is still available. Others, myself included, are using Morey's Red. If you search for "Moreys" on this site, you will find lots of discussion. Here's the pertinent info I lifted from an earlier posting by "BobO":
NAPA Auto Parts
Line code: "NCB"
Part No.: 3209
That will get you a 14 oz. cartridge of Morey's Super Red Premium Water Proof Mutli purpose E.P. Grease; a decade or more supply for less than $10.
Keep on sailing,

Re: seacock lube
Ken,
I was being safe; Moreys runs closer to $7 for 14 oz. Spartan comes in 6 oz. bottles. So, I guess that makes it about 50 cents per ounce vs. $1.67? Cheap compared to Chanel or those single malts.
Neither one is a big deal, but Moreys is available at NAPA; I think I have seen Spartan grease in one of the major suppliers' catalog.

Re: seacock lube
I bought and received yesterday Spartan's seacock kit which includes their grease and a thin profile wrench especially for the Spartan seacock. Total cost delivered to NJ was $27.00.
