Any advice or opinions about installing an drivesaver and a dripless stuffing box system on a CD28 with an MD7A. Also, should I install a grounding strap to the prop shaft or not , such as the Europeans. Are there any concerns such as "crash reverse" situations. Your help is always appreciated.

Re: Drivesaver w/ Dripless stuffing box
something to think about-I have a drive saver in my cd-28 with a volvo md11-unfortunately it does not allow enough room to back the stuffing box packing nut far enough up the shaft to replace the packing without pulling the engine-the engine comes out every 5-7 years whether it needs to or not-then I rehab or replace the prop-shaft-cutalss bearing-shaft log hose and clamps-etc.I have never had a problem getting years out of packing-its allways still in there-the key is not be a fanatic and try to get it too tight-if it leaks a little its ok-my mantra after years of owning boats is {repeat after me) "it's only a boat-its only a boat" see yaScott Sirgo wrote: Any advice or opinions about installing an drivesaver and a dripless stuffing box system on a CD28 with an MD7A. Where did you find a drive-saver small enough to fit under the v-drive? I looked all over for one. Or don't you have a v-drive?wayne grenier wrote:
