Has anyone here replaced the water heater on a CD 330. I had to destroy the housing on the old one to get it out. All of the new ones I see measure 14 1/2", the opening is barely 13". Is there a heater made that will fit or is there a trick to installing the water heater.
thanks,

Re: CD 330 Water heater Question
Jon,
Heh, heh. I just purchased a 33 and did a search on this message board to get all the info I could on the bloody things. There was a line of questions and answers pertaining to water heater replacement. There were several models listed and people who have done the job on the 330 as well as the 33. Just do a search labeled 33 and scan through it.
Best of luck,
Paul D.

Re: CD 330 Water heater Question
We just installed new water heater in our 1981 CD 33. Old Raritan 6 gal came out with a struggle (it was rusted to pieces), but NEW one was much too big to go in. We ended up with a rectangular 6 gal Seaward, and still had to trim 1/4 inch from port locker opening. I think CD must have installed original heater before engine was installed, or something. But, hey, it's a boat and Murphy is our first mate.
