Don't buy one that is if all you want to do is sail on a little inland lake or go out for quiet day sails! If you want to go out where the big boats play, then you should look at a CD25. After 20 years of caring for my 1978 25, Dauntless, I am reluctantly putting her up for sale. Why? With 4 growing children we need to get a bigger boat. I'm about to close on a CD28 in great condition. I'm already feeling bad about Dauntless being out of the water. She's the only boat that has made every Lake Michigan Cape Dory Rondi. Dauntless is a one owner, fresh water boat. She has had numerous upgrades, rewired electrical panel, new running lights on the pulpits, tri color/anchor light, dual fuel tanks, 2 large deep cycle batteries, condition meter, battery switch, autopilot, full batten main, working jib, 150, and cruising spinnaker, whisker pole, Danforth and Bruce anchors, curtains, Origo gimballed stove, stereo, VHF, knotmeter, compass, GPS, 15hp elec start Johnson with long shaft and reverse thrust kit, Micron CSC bottom paint (ready to launch), tandem axle trailer with adjustable supports, well you get the idea. Call or E-mail if you'd like more info and the rest of her equipment list. She is awaiting inspection in her own storage building in my back yard in Oak Creek WI (near Milwaukee). She's anxious to get back in the water. Asking 10,900 but I'll consider a little movement for a good home. I can be reached at 414-762-3773 (h) or 414-768-6555 (w). Jerry

Re: Don't buy a CD25
jerry: I know just how you feel. For 18 years, I had my own CD25 (1980) and sold her this past December. She was in as good a shape as you describe yours...maybe prettier and with similar upgrades. I bought a CD-33!!!! WOW! In fantastic condition! I am exstatic!! But of course, will never forget "the baby"... hope you find a good home for her. By the way, I sold mine for $11,000, to a good owner. Cheers. Zeida.
