ANDERSON WINCHES -half price

Post by Larry DeMers »

HI all,

I finally got around to ordering my Anderson Winches (28st's) from JSI/Sailnet, and was met with a pleasant surprise. Their catalog/internet site price was $625 *each*, with a list price of $709 each.
When I called and talked with "John" (x1214), he quoted a price of $354.50 each for these fine winches, or 1/2 off the list. This fell into the "Too Good To Be True" hamper, so I called Defender, and got a quote of $585 I believe, and when quizzed why JSI could discount down to 354.50, they said that JSI is making a try for the lowest prices in the business, taking it away from Defender (who deserves to lose it in my opinion).
So I'm passing this on to you all..Andersons are an unadvertised special at JSI/Sailnet. Might indeed be a good time to make the swap to larger winches, should they be needed.

Cheers,

I think Andersen is running a half price special. I know Performance Yacht (pyacht.com) is also doing it. By the way, Andersen is also lowering the price further if you "trade in" an old winch with the 1/2 price purchase of a new winch. Its on a sliding scale depending on the size of the winch you get from them. For there small self tailer I think you get $40.00. I think the sale is on until 5/31 but I'm not sure. I'll be sending them an old Lewmar 7 standard winch.

I just recieved Anderson ST40 from Rigging Only (www.riggingonly.com)for $678.99 ea. with a $90.00 ea. rebate so total will be 588.99 ea.
They will be installed this weekend. This has only been a ten year project so I am looking forward to finishing it. Thank ya'll for all the help I receive from this site, and I always look forward to comments from Larry. My mistress , as the captain calls her, thanks you.

Yeah, with the 28ST's there is a $65 rebate each, and that now reduces the total another $130!! Can hardly not afford to take advantage of this now. They should arrive next Tuesday..kinda excited (jeesh, I must be totally devoid of all ordinary 'life').

Like every spring, gathering the new gear, and the old, and then trekking north to the boat with all my tools and gear for the boat..the car groaning from the load, heck, this has become a part of my life, a preferred part, thank you. It's the start of the new season, and to be savored mightily.

Good Winching!
