Our '85 CD33 has two dorade boxes mounted on deck. In the cabin interior, the holes which come through the cabin headliner have a cosmetic aluminum (I think its' aluminum) "O" type ring, finishing off the holes as they come through the cabin headliner.
They have become corroded and have become quite unsightly. Is there a metal or plastic replacement available?
This is strictly a cosmetic item, but would like to replace.

Re: CD33-Dorade boxes
If you refer to the aluminum screened rings, then yes, those are readily available at your hardware store. They are an ordinary attic vent or wall vent..3 in. I believe I bought.
They corrode with a powdery white oxide of some kind..even up here in sweetwater land.

Re: CD33-Dorade boxes
My CD-33 had the same problem. I just made the replacements myself out of teak O ring. I used mesh wire sandwiched between the teak ring and a rubber gasket on the other side. Varnished the wood. They look SUPER, and no more corrosion. Very easy to make and a great improvement in the aesthetics of the boat. Try it, you'll love them. Forget about plastic. Regards,

3 self tapping screws attach it to the headliner. Looks a little better than the metal. Both 3" and 4 " are available in West Marine Cat. Page 466.
