I'm looking at a CD 25 hull numbered in the high 400's and have found one that appears in good condition everywhere except for the deck. There are serious cracks in the gel coat running along both sides of the cabin and and around the forward portion of the cabing where it meets the deck. It's possible to put a knife point into the glass in some of the areas but in other areas it seems to be much harder. Although the deck is still solid, I'm concerned that this may be indicative of a problem with the core of the deck. I'm new to Cape Dorys and I don't know what the deck core is made of. I noticed a similar condition in a Typhoon. Can anyone advise me as to how serious this problem could be and the type of repairs that may be required from a cost perspective? Thanks, Joe
