Converting Keel Stepped to Cabin Stepped Ty Mast

Post by John H »

I have an older Typhoon, 1968 with the mast coming through the cabin top to a foot on the V-berth. For ease in raising the mast and sealing the cabin I would like to place a compression post inside and a fitting on top. Has anyone done this? Suggestions on the joint between post/roof/mast foot? Thanks

My Ty has (I think) an original equipment compression post. I took some pix and added them to a web site with some other pix of Pokey. I don't know if this is a help.
