Today I received a spam email from one Kurt Schenholm touting a product for boats. The last time this happened, many other participants on this board also got spammed, so presumably he harvests addresses from us.
I absolutely loathe spammers. They are destructive of message boards and of email. Many people don't post their real email address, or stay off message boards entirely, because they want to avoid being spammed. That makes it harder to build Internet communities like this one. I refuse to let the spammer scum drive me underground, but it does waste a lot of my time - more than half my incoming emails are spam.
If Schenholm also spammed you, please send a complaint to abuse@abuse.earthlink.net - they own Mindspring and host this spammer's website and his email account.
Regarding the spammer's product - it is BANNED from this board. I will not tolerate any further mention of it here. Discussing the product just plays into the spammer's hands. Spammers don't care if they inconvenience ten thousand people as long as they can get one customer. Patronizing spammers just perpetuates this destructive nuisance.

I got spammed today too.
Apparently this guy reads our board and anytime someone mentions his product, he sends us all some spam as a business opportunity. I will send an complaint to mindspring, Walt, and I wouldn't use his product if it was the best thing on the market.

Could well be. It was mentioned in a couple of posts a few days ago. Those posts have been deleted.Tom wrote: Apparently this guy reads our board and anytime someone mentions his product, he sends us all some spam as a business opportunity.

Re: I got spammed today too.
This might be my "fault". I called the guy on Wednesday (before he spammed) to place an order. He asked where I heard about the stuff and I told him this board. A day later: Spam.
