As I soon will be repairing some minor deck gelcoat crazing, would anyone know where to purchase matching tan gelcoat? My intention is to mix the gelcoat, the hardener and west system 406 (similar to cabasil) to make the repair.
Thanks.......Charlie

You had best check to be sure gelcoat and epoxy are compatable for cosmetic repairs, I don't think they are.In any event widen the cracks to a v shape before filling--Scandvik makes a nice carbide scraper that works perfect for this.A search in the archives will give the gelcoat manufacturer that can match any color,I can't recall their name.Good luck.

Re: gelcoat
Polyester gel coats are not usually used as a finish to epoxy repairs without the recommended additives for that system. While not having experience with the use of these additives I can say that (although my memory may not be what it used to be) it is always prudent to ensure different products compatability and do the job once.Larry DeMers wrote: Gel coat and epoxy should be compatible with each other..I am missing your caution here..could you elaborate please?
