The Walker Bay 10 dinghy I ordered showed up at my dock this afternoon. It arrived in a most unusual zippered shipping "envelope" (the Roadway guy said he "ain't never seen anything like it"). Seems like adequate packaging though.
I talked with Walker Bay a bit about the boat and how it is made. A couple interesting fun facts: The mold to make this 10 foot long injection molded (not roto molded) dinghy is said to be the largest injection mold in the world. It weighs more than a 737 and cost 75 million to make (that's what I call "overhead"). I will be assembling it this weekend and open to feedback to anyone who may be contemplating purchasing one. Sailnet currently has them for $549 (with e-coupon) and shipping is n/c during the promotion.
(PS There Larry, I'm posting. Are you happy now?)

No sail rig just yet. Am planning to use it for getting to and fro the mooring. The kids are "starting to circle" regarding getting the sail rig though. Imagine it will just be a matter of time.Jim wrote: Did you get the sailing rig?
