Oklahoma Contingent of the NE Fleet, Galley Wench of the S/V Heather Ann & Evening Light, etc., etc. (Whew - He's getting as verbal as Capt. S.) has decided to accept a crew position on board the Sloop 'Evening Light' during the NE Fleet summer 2002 sailing events!!
Two left. (An offer has been extended and with held breath we await the answer!)
Don't ya love it when a plan comes together? (No Dave, not Horseshoe Reef.)

Evening Light Crew

Re: Evening Light Crew
It is quite apparent the Evening Light is going to be a force to be reckoned with in her first year under her new Captain. Captain Leo is bringing in the ringers to sail her at her best! That, my friends, is gonna' be a beautiful sight this summer. I can see the smile on Leo's face from here!Leo MacDonald CD33 wrote:

Summer crew
Leo:
That is great news to see that Capt. Bill will "force" himself to come east and sail aboard Evening Light. I wonder how many nanoseconds he had to think about it?
As you know, I had the pleasure of attending last year's event as crew aboard Realization, Catherine Monaghan and Bruce Halley's CD32. I was between boats and as luck would have it they offered me a spot during the CDSOA Rendezvous on Long Island Sound (LIS). It was the highlight of my summer! I met dozens of fine folks who, as I am, are devoted CD lovers. Bill is but one of them.
As luck (destiny?) would have it, I purchased a CD330 from a couple that I met while sailing on LIS. Now I have the pleasure of offering crew spots for 2 would-be attendees of next summer's CDSOA Rendezvous. I plan to begin in New Jersey (raftup on Raritan Bay) and end with the Maine Cruise with Capt. Thorpe (Part III phase of the Rendezvous. If there are any interested sailors who live too far from LIS to bring their own boat, give consideration to joining me aboard Mokita or aboard one of the other fine CDs that have crew positions available. It will be an unforgetable adventure and maybe the first of many.

Re: Traditional things to do IF......
Captain MacDonald,
Just in case, if Midnight(upps, sorry, that is when you may arrive in Watch Hill! Not the name of your vessel!!!) make that Evening Light seems to be making slow or no headway, you can always lighten ship! Start your water first(no, not YOUR water, the SHIPS water!)over the side. Follow that by heaving your cannon and finally if all else fails and you feel that you MUST really do something to catch that raskle Captain Stump, heave your crew over the side!!!! They can have dinner with Davy Jones, and Evening light WILL go faster to weather.
Just a thought.....I remain Sir, yoour most HUMBLE servant..........
