Gross tonnage of CD30

Post by Wally Bennett »

Hi!

Can anyone tell me what is the Gross Tonnage of a CD30B? This is
not to be cofused with displacement. Gross tonnage is the volume
area of the boat NOT the weight.
Or does anyone have the formula?

I need this info to renew my license. I think the gross tonnage
should be about 8 Gross Tons.

Thanks for responding!!

Wally -

The link below is to the US Coast Guard Documentation Center. You will find there a link to documentation forms that in turn will give you a link to the simplified measurement rules. I'm pretty sure the formula for the CD 30 is Gross Tonnage = (.375 x LBD)/100, but check the link for the definitions.

Good luck,
Allen
