Any ideas on a headsail roller furling system for my CD TY. I am looking for a reasonably efficient system that will not break the first year of ownership's bank.

TY furling suggestions?

Re: TY furling suggestions?
The only problem with a RF for this boat is that it sails so nice with the blade jib sheeted through the cabintop fairleads. It points better and is easy to tack.
I don't know how it will sail with a half rolled up genoa in strong winds.
I love sailing in 25kts with the jib and a reef. The boat handles so nice.
Maybe give it a season as is and see what you think.

Re: TY furling suggestions?
I use a CDI Flexable Furler with a Sailrite 167.5% Genoa. This sail is less than $230 but one must assemble it themselve. If you afraid of the sewing machine do not attempt. If you shop around for the furler you can do it for under $600 Genoa and CDI Furler. If your Current genoa is in good shape it may be possible to add the luff tape for the furler and then its about half the cost. Luff Tape runs about $.18 per foot
Sailrite currently sells the CDI ff1 with bearings for $315.00 or without bearings for $255.00 and $40.00 for a deck hardware kit

Re: TY furling suggestions?
try looking at the Schaefer Snap Furl. A very good system, and for a very reasonable price. Less than $500.
