Holding Tank CD27

Post by Jack King »

There was an interesting discussion recently that centered around the holding tank location and capacity of the CD25D.

As I own a CD27 ('83,#267) that has the holding tank beneath the enginge (access port under the floor between the bilge and the engine steps). In my original CD 27 Manual I can find no reference to the volume (gallons) that the holding tank carries. From what I can gather the holding tank arrangment was different on early years of the CD27. Does anyone know what the capacity on the later models may be?

Thanks.

Jack,
My 1980 CD27 #166 has the holding tank beneath the port side berth in the main cabin. I think it has a 14 gallon capacity but I'd have to check on that.

Ditto for ours 1981 CD27 #218. I think 14 gallons is right.

And ditto for our former boat, CD27 #181 (1980). We thought the tank held 10 gallons.

My '80 CD27 has the dinette cabin, with a dinette on the port side just aft of the head. The holding tank is under the V-birth, port and aft. This is "uphill" and just forward of the head. I think the capacity is 10-20 gal.
