Boat speed or windspeed...
So now you are going to make over a Hobie cat into a cutter rig?
Re: Boat speed or windspeed...
So, we're NOT talking a great sail in 15 to 30's wind speed???Don Carr wrote: So now you are going to make over a Hobie cat into a cutter rig?

35Kts...Don't forget a change of shorts.
15 knots -25knots OK. Over 30 one doesn't volunteer for that sort of thing.
Re: 15 to 35 knots.....
Capt Stump,
If you are ever looking for crew on such a practice mission, I most humbly submit myself. I am the caretaker of a Typhoon but am inexperienced at heavy weather sailing and seek the opportunity to learn. Will bring Grog, or functional equivalent!

Re: 40Kts...no change of shorts needed
Don,
We've sailed Realization in 40 knot winds. Needed change of socks due to all the water and foam spewing over the dodger, but never needed to change shorts. But now that the temp has finally dropped below freezing, I think I'll let Dave do the sailing.
