Oh boy... here we go again........
Pirate Captain Stump is at it again.......
First he miss speaks on location of R2 trying to send us to New London......
"Rechecking my original message, your are correct Sir, Seaflower IS Fl 4s(a white flasher) 28ft 7m. It is NOT an "R2". The R2 I refer to after pasing Seaflower is at the NW end of Fishers Island, off Silver Eel Cove. My apologies Sir, and thanks for catching the error........"
Now he enlists the help of the Coast Guard, to further foil our course.........
Beware Captains... he will stop at nothing to win the 2002 CD Chalange Cup.
What will be next?

Methinks "Stumpy's" next underhanded move will be to enlist the aid of the Navy Seals to accomplish his goal through covert operations! Perhaps the Race Committee should consider setting a course in Western Long Island Sound unfamiliar to the Stump!!! Maybe around the hazards of the Norwalk Islands where he may be cast upon the rocks!
Methinks given the proper rating, the 2002 Race will be finished 1, 2 and 3 by the CD30MKII fleet Macht Nichts, Layla and Adamarie, in that order!!!

Re: Oh boy... here we go again........ (No, still!!!)
Isnt "The Race" to be during the 2002 Rendezvous and there was talk it was to be in Western Long Island Sound??? Along w/ the coast line, how is #1 at dodging the commercial traffic???
Its also interesting that #1 concerned w/ Captain Heintz showing interest in "Evening Light". Paranoia setting in??? Hmmmm. Dont worry, Captain Stump, it doesnt mean they are not out to get you.

Stumpy a new handle for the devious Pirate Captain Stump !!!!!!
Perhaps you are right Western Long Island sound is looking better and better!!!!!
We will have to contact the Race Committee about this!!!
Perhaps the 2002 Fleet Captain will have to negotiate this......
I know Captain Monaghan will support us!!!!
I agree that the 2002 CD cup challenge will be dominated by the CD 30 MK II Racing Sloops. I like the order of finish!!!!!!!
ps working on a race course, Captain Stumpy will get his own copy of said course.

Calling all "western" Northeast Captains Commanding
To All Captains Commanding,
I've tried my best to parlay for summer events, including a race, on western Long Island Sound. I fear the only way to achieve success is with additional support. I've got the Macht Nichts crew on my side, how about you!
All western CT and Long Island sailors, Hudson River and NJ captains (CDSOA members) need to show up at the upcoming Winter Meeting in Niantic, CT. Show up, be counted, and be heard. (Stick around for the event planning too; it's fun, so don't be shy.)
Without support and participation from the "western" captains, I'm afraid we won't be able to justify further events in the area. Come on guys, I think if we could at some point coax the "easterners" into NY Harbor, they'd be pleasantly surprised. But let's at least get them into Oyster or Huntington Bays or vicinity.
Westerners, we need you to not just talk-the-talk but to walk-the-walk, or is that sail-the-sail. Anyway, participation is the name of the game.
CDSOA members, we need you at the meeting. So get yourselves to Niantic and bring your charts, cruising guides and your tide & current tables.
Members and non-members alike, that's everybody now, we need you at the rendezvous and/or race too.
Wouldn't it be cool if we could get the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain sailors so excited about these events that they'd point their CD's at the nearest set of locks and join us too!
Okay, that's enough, I'm beginning to rant.

Re: Calling all "western" Northeast Captains Commanding
The Fair Lady Catherine is very kind to invite us Great Lake sailors to venture through the locks to join you this summer. But then she ruins it by talking about these tide and current things. We prefer our water to stay in one place below our boats and we don't like it to go moving around all sneakily either. Add to that the fact that you have pirates over there, and I think it would be much better if you would all come here this summer. Our water is much better behaved (well most of the time, ...at least we can tell when it's going to misbehave). The LMCDOA is holding it's 17th annual Rondi the first weekend of August in Muskegon, Michigan. We'd love to see you here, and remember, on the Great Lakes we put salt on our food, not in our water ;-}

Catherine,
When is this year's mid-winter meeting? The crew from
Tanqueray (CD30) out of Glen Cove will attempt to be
there, armed with charts and local knowledge.

Winter Meeting for CDSOA Members
Rich,
Unless our Fleet Captain changes the policy, the Winter Meeting is a planning meeting for CDSOA members. (I don't know that I'd discourage any non-members that actually want to help plan the events. You may want to contact Leo MacDonald via e-mail: macdore@aol.com or phone: (860) 859-9600.)
BUT, the on-the-water events (that's the rendezvous, cruises, raftups, etc.) are open to one and all. We want you to come:-)) It should be noted that the registration fees for these events will cost more for non-members so you may want to consider joining but it certainly isn't a requirement.
