Give us a brake! I was just next door to you yesterday in Oyster Bay, visiting Sine Qua Non's mast, now lying prone on the rack. I was wearing a T-shirt but I couldn't bring myself to wear shorts! I kept my back to Oyster Bay Harbor because the sight of any boat under sail would have ruined my day even further. Frankly, I hope you can sail through the winter. A mild winter would be a blessing to all of us on Long Island!

Re: A glass of wine with you, Sir.......
Captain Mascaros,
A glass of wine with you Sir, yesterday, Fleet Captain MacDonald, and a couple of friends were helping me put the winter cover on Hanalei, a truly sobering time! Captain couldn't do much what with the leg off(it is on the mend)! What was wind speed in that end of the sound this time of year? 6.5 knot boat speed!! What is your vessel length? Impressive Sir, I commend you! Maybe next years race could be held on December 1st.,2002? KIDDING, kidding, kidding..........

Re: december 1 2001
Mike,
Hey I resemble that remark!! Heh, well the boat is definitely on the hard, and it is definitely not shirt sleeve weather here..although truthfully, we have made it through the first window where we usually have -30 deg. weather..the first week of December (well ok, so we are now IN that window, but the weather guessers are thinking of giving us a nice week, temps at the 45 deg. pt. and rain on Wed. Could be worse! Snow is all gone already..fast winter heh?).
If this holds thru Christmas then we have only two months of dangerous cold possible, then it is back to 45 deg. and progressively better temps. At this rate I could have skipped winterizing the boat! Heh, kidding..would never take that chance.
Glad you had a nice weekend, and the weather was good to you.
