My Grandfather recently passed and my Grandmother told me to take whatever I wanted from the garage. One of the things there was an 18HP Nissan outboard. I know it won't fit in my CD25 but I took it anyway. What I don't know is anything at all about this motor. My Grandma doesn't even know how long he had this particular motor on his boat and I could find no paperwork or documentation for the motor anywhere.
So, my question is, can anyone help me with some very basic info? I would like to figure out in order of importance,
1. Is it 2 or 4 stroke?
2. What year is it?
3. What is it worth? (so I can trade for a motor that will fit in my CD25)
Here is what I can tell you about it. The engine cover is silver with NISSAN in blue letters a blue and a red stripe and 18 on a blue field facing forward. The engine and the shaft are both the same color of deep almost metallic blue and the prop is white.
Thank you
