Force 10 range

Post by Ken Coit »

Does anyone know how the ignition system on the Force 10 ranges is powered? Am I looking for a blown fuse or a circuit breaker I haven't flipped or what? Thus far we are using a fire stick, but it would be so much easier....

Thanks,

Ken

Well ken I'm not positive on this one but I think it may utilize a piezo electric igniter. You know, the same type that is on a propane barbecue. They don't use any source of supplied electricity. I think they are a friction sort of gadget and you can't fix them you have to replace them. You should be able to remove the igniter from the stove /oven and determine for sure what it is, or what the hey, give Force 10 a quick call. Maybe someone else has more insight on this.

Ken,
If my memory is correct there is a battery underneath the stove-i just can't remember what side it is on or the type.

Ken,

The Force 10 range/oven on my boat has a AA battery to power the burner igniters. The battery is on the under side of the oven area on the right. I have twice had a failure of the switch which activates the igniter.

Thanks for the clues. We are off to the boat and I will be looking for that battery!

And the battery is found. Unfortunately, the holder seems to have become disconnected from its ground lead, but that will be quickly fixed. Thanks to everyone!
