anti-fouling paint for outboards

Post by Tom B »

I'm interested in what brands and types of anti fouling paint everyone is using on their outboards in wells. Tried a Tempo spray antifouling clear paint on my CD25 outboard and the slim is already growing. Any better paint for aluminum?

TEMPO Clear a/f

Post by Don Carr »

Based on some advice from a local power boater I used the TEMPO clear coat anti-foulant so far after 2 months+ in the water the lower unit is absolutely clean. You apply it via spatry can in two parts. First you apply a clear primer, let it dry. Then you apply the a/f. When done it is almost 'plastic' in feeling like a teflon coating. So far I believe the product works up to the advertising.
