CD30 Spinnaker Halyard Block

Post by Chris Schnell »

I've not seen the masthead on my 1982 CD30 so I don't know if there's a bar or other accomodation that I can attach a block to for a spinnaker halyard (like on my old CD25). If there's not, how have you rigged for spinnaker? I'm installing a Furlex roller/reefing system and new headsail this weekend and will have someone up the mast, so it's the perfect time to deal with this. Thanks.

Chris:
My mast is down now. I will email you a photo of the masthead, to which is attached a stainless fitting. A Schaefer block (#7, I'm guessing) is attached for the spinnaker halyard. This fitting appears to bear the Spartan stamp; have no idea if it's still available.

Rigrite has masthead spinnaker bails listed at the link below. It looks like the SP-083-1 is the one for the CD-30 mast.
