Can anyone give me some advice on how to prime the galley pump on the sink? I seem to have the standard type hand pump (black-topped pump handle that moves in and out of the barrel)that came with most CDs...mine is a 1982 CD 27...Can't find anything specifically amiss with the system, tank is half full, but the pump handle just moves freely??? like it needs to be primed. Many thanks...

You might try to hold your finger over the spout opening lightly while pumping. It sometimes helps after a pull out. If this does not try, you may have to replace the pump. On my CD26, the pump is tucked away under the companion way hatch thus not too many pumps will fit. If yours is like mine (see http://members.aol.com/darenius/CapeDor ... ml....Your model is no longer made and there is no seal kit. If you like the same design, try its replacement which is a Jabsco Topsider Galley Pump Model 37220-1010. It's white instead of silver but has an available seal kit. Mounting and looks are the same....
